M4 GTS seats

Some questions about the non-clubsport M4 GTS seats, as found in US spec cars.
  • Are there any known specs about these nice seats?
  • Are these seat lighter than the standart seats?
  • Whats the reason for the great holes in the back of the seats? Design? Lightweight?
  • Is there any possibility that these seat will come standart or optional with the M3/M4 competition package?
  • It looks like the seats were complete leather with only the inner parts of the side pads in alcantara... right?

Marginally if at all. Seats still contain airbags.

Also what I've been told by a source at BMW. Those seats alone might push me over the edge to get ZCP, as stupid as that sounds.

I heard that the standard GTS seats are similar to the competition package seats (holes on the lumbar area for lighter weight) The club sport seats are made with carbon fiber and and should have a significant weight reduction. It will be available only as a "after market" option as well as the harness.

Considering the regular recaro spg is over $1000 for a single seat and you still need to buy seat rails and sliders seperately. If it's really $4500 for the pair from bmw ready to be installed. That's a very very good deal as I was expecting it to be over $6000 for the pair.

Agreed. My "source" has been accurate with all the other stuff that has been revealed so far so expecting this to be the same. But like anything else until we see/hear from BMW formally, it could be subject to change.

$4500 for those does not strike me as a good deal unless the seat mounts are Recaro's FIA sliders.

Those are pole position and not SPG.

http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=070-98-LL11

Leather pole position going for 1500 each. They are not carbon and do not include mounting hardware. The M4 GTS recaros match the interior perfectly and they are a carbon shell with all hardware included. So $4500 is a total steal for the pair.

I really don't get why forum membees constantly bash and complain without doing a little research before hand.
