Organ donor list

So, as I'm updating my drivers licence, I get a prompt to sign up to the organ donors list.

It's something I've always wanted to do, but never knew how. Turns out you can do it all on line in a few mins.

I would encourage everyone to do it. It's very easy.

Definitely.
If something ever happens to me, I hope I can help someone else.

I signed up years ago. I've seen the adverts on TV here in Wales for the new 'you're in' unless you 'opt out' campaign, cracking idea.

Signed up years ago.

It should be compulsory opt in and you can only opt out by completing a form from main post offices only on a Tuesday.

As far as I know, this is all going to be changed soon to an "opt out" system, rather than "opt in"... So the default position will be that your organs will be used...

Ah, maybe it is Wales that I read about for the you're in unless you opt out system... I am all for it... as long as there is a clear way for those who wish to opt out to do so, then I say "go for it.."..

I also signed-up years ago and carry a donor card where it's easy to see in my wallet.

I'm supportive of an opt-out approach for adults, but opt-in (parental or legal guardian consent) for those less than 18 years old.

I think it should be compulsary for every one to give organs, my daughter is waiting for a multi fiscal organ transplant at the moment ( 5 organs ). As a dad i would like to thank every one who donates.

I heard it was a main post office, only on a Tuesday, only with the assistant that is called Gertrude and working in booth 67.

And if thats not correct, then it should be.

I have been on the list for years as a donor, pity anyone who gets my organs though, especially if its my face, lol.

That's tough, all the best for the agonising wait....

Transplants work much better these days however the 'right' circumstances are so specific that we must all be considered potential donors to give those like your daughter the best chance of a shorter wait.

And there are us idiots on here worrying about picking the right car, engine, colour and spec

I hope and pray everything turns out OK for your daughter, I am sure it will.
