Black kidney grilles, more M Performance...

Something I have been keen on for a while and always planned.

Finally got round to purchasing some official BMW ones last week and fitted yesterday. Before and after pictures not great (dark and rained just as I finished...) and once you have seen one set.....but here they are anyway.

Next step is to procure the rear diffuser, the oem side vinyls and the front splitter. Unsure about the side skirt extensions and the boot spoiler at the moment.

A couple of questions
1) Are the cheaper M-Performance side vinyls any good or worth spending the extra and go via BMW?
2) If needing to remove them, I assume they don't leave any markings and are somewhat easy to remove?
3) How do the side skirt extensions attach to the car? utilising existing connections? just checking no drilling etc required!

I'd recommend getting the vinyls fitted by BMW for sure yes. Some chat on here recently saying they're tricky.

On my personal preference I think the dude skirts subtly add a lot to the cars stance, money well spent too.

Grills look good, still very proud of the 15 plate too

I'll be removing my non genuine rear diffuser around Christmas time if your interested. Was going to advertise it then but if someone is looking now, also have a pair of genuine m-performance grilles being removed at the same time. Looking for £130 for the diffuser and £70 for the grilles, both are less than 6 months and 3000 miles old . Prices included postage and can be reduced for collection.
Car looks good BTW

The OEM instructions state to drill 10 holes in to each side skirt, and then use the same plastic rivet method as used to fit the front splitter.

This said, I am sure you could just use the same 3M tape as used on the lip spoiler and front splitter and have the same desired affect with the same longevity.

I got some for my Sapphire Black 330 but ditched them after fitting, I just don't think they suit black which is a shame as they look great on all of the other colours

It's all down to personal taste.

Seen some BSM cars with black and it looks ok

Personally went for the double slat in black and chrome.

I have to admit, it does look good.

I did see one parked near my work place on Thursday but I never thought to take a picture of it.

Not only was the Grills black but also the front splitter too looked very good.

Anyone got any links to the side skirt add ons, been thinking of the vinyls for a while and I'm tempted to go the whole hog.

OP - good move on the black grille

I agree, think they look great on the lighter colours especially white but don't do Black and MG any favours in my opinion.
