622bhp RS6
Had occasion this morning to have a run in my brothers RS6. V10 twin turbo (NA version as used in Gallardo). Dyno runs yesterday to ensure that all was well following the fitting of a Miltek exhaust. 622 bhp at the wheels with a couple of tweeks to the fueling confirmed all was good.
Not what you'd call a nimble car, but get it past the apex and open the taps and there's not much that will that will keep up. I guess its somewhere in the threes to sixty, but it's a big heavy car to get moving. It's party piece is the way it consumed 50 - 150 mph in a single lunge of turbocharged fury. Very, impressive. Given that you can put two dogs in the back or take the family away for holiday in this car and on longer trips get into the mid twenties mpg, it may even be a better 'all round' car than the most wonderful 340i tourer. |

If it's a V10TT, I assume it's a C6 like so?
Beautiful things. I really do want to be in an RS6 at some point in the near future.

This is what's in my crosshairs after the BMW (must be red):

Absolute beasts. I swear it's the lowest widest car on uk roads, from the rear it just looks incredible and what a drivetrain and sound

Possibly the only car I prefer the Estate to the Saloon version, epic car and soundtrack.
I think the older 5.0 is the V10 biturbo (C6) and then from 2012 it's the 4.0 V8 twin turbo (C7)

It doesn't quite match the GTR in Autocar's performance tests, but when you consider the sheer size and practicality of the package, it puts up a bloody good fight.

My boss has the current RS6. After some slight goading, he had a miltek cat back and Revo stage 1 tune fitted.
At now over 700bhp, it's quicker than most super cars. Absolutely insane and considering it can comfortable carry 5 adults and luggage, I struggle to understand why anyone would want anything else. Having driven it, the sound is incredibly infectious. My only criticism is that it doesn't have HUD fitted and when you are accelerating that quickly, you cannot afford the time to look down at your speedo!! |

I would agree when you see one in your rear view mirror it looks impressive and there is no doubt that it is not a run of the mill car

I went for a ride in a friend's 2015 twin turbo V8 RS6 a couple of weeks' ago. Yes it's fast but it's also quite inert - heavy front end and has to be wrestled once the speed builds. Definitely not nimble. OK as a rapid cruiser, but I'd look elsewhere for vehicle dynamics and fun.

I had a 2005 V8 RS6+ and it was a brutal beast. 480PS and 1960kg. The best thing about it was the way it launched itself off the line regardless of the conditions.
The dynamics and the brakes left a little to be desired. And the reliability was best forgotten - 2 gearboxes in 18 months of ownership - thankfully both under warranty...
