e90 Xenon auto leveling headlamps problem
Hey guys -
My brights won't stay on. I switch them on and they stay up for a short while, and then they switch back down to the low beams. There are no lights on the dash, or codes stored in the car. I have tried taking the back cover off the headlamps and cycling the highs and lows through manually in case the iris was sticky or shut. No change. The car is a 2007 335xi with xenons and adaptive headlights. The problem happens whether I have the automatic headlamps on or not. It happens in every setting the headlamps could be on. I took it to my local independent shop and they can't seem to figure it out either. Their best guess is that something is wrong with the module on the drivers front control arm? or the level sensor which is located in the right rear of the car. For instance, if the car doesn't think it is level, it will drop down to the low beams, which is not what I understand the intention of that feature to be. The way the brights stay on, and then you drive it for a short while, and they go off, makes me think something is loose and rattles off while you are driving, causing the connection to drop. Pretty frustrated. Any ideas out there? Or items to check? |

Anybody have any ideas on what to check? I literally have no bright lights now
My local shop is saying there is something wrong with the headlight level sensor in the rear suspension, but they aren't sure about it and it's a $500 part |
