Opinions on mirror covers

Recently put carbon fibre mirror covers on my Black Sapphire F30 (ebay not OEM but decent quality).

Anyway, not entirely happy due to lack of contrast against black they don't really stand out.

Thinking of maybe going for silver covers to match wheels, similar to M1/235i look.

What do you reckon - yay or nay?

Hold fire a week, I have some new mirror caps getting shipped to me - hopefully get them in next weekend and will post pics. I promise you they'll look good

I like the idea of non contrasting CF bits on black! I'm going to add a CF spoiler to my CF mirror caps on my sapphire black 335d.

Just adding to the confusion, it's got to be silver on a black Sapphire, would look fab.

I thought that, but I've also got the all black grilles so not sure if for the contrast would look better with standard grilles

I see your point, it's a choice between stealth look and the silver with chrome grill, you have two things going on there.

Silver looks good on darker cars, Kinda like Audi does with their S cars ( aluminum ).. Pretty happy with the Black covers on my Alpine White 328 sport.

But surely that's a negative point, no?
If I was to ever order an 'S' Audi, it'd be ordered with body coloured mirrors

Dark suits silver really well - those look nice.

The carbon fibre ones would look great on yours as well.
