Oil Changes

The oil change interval is currently arrrox 17k - 19k mls on the condition based service schedule.
I'm of a school where I like to change between services so around 9k mls.

Does anyone else here do this or just leave the oil in for the full duration based on the CBS.

I have never been bothered really as always has company BMWs but my new one in March will be my own which I plan to keep for 6 yrs.

Also if you do oil change early I guess its best to leave the oil change indicator alone as it will ping again at 17-18k?

Thanks All

Yup nothing to stop you changing if you should wish but the service interval might as well be left alone.

You could change as often as you like really. Way I see it let the car tell you when it needs something doing, that's how it's been designed , and hopefully you won't be spending out too often.

Much like you, I get the oil and oil filter changed every 9-10k miles.

But I own my car too, and think these extended oil changes are bad for engine longevity (imo, the timing chain issues were a combination of timing chain quality problems AND long times between oil changes)
