With little discount and new 5 coming out, that's going to be the fastest non M 5 series.......... in depreciation!

We tuned our M6 GC (same engine) to 620hp and 204mph two years ago, but doing so involved turning off some of the gearbox safety limits, so the for public we keep the power but limit it to 190mph using the BMW M driver's pack.

I guess in that time Alpina have found a way to do it safely or rejigged the box.

The Alpina has a different gearbox to the M5/M6.

I wonder how one of these would compare to an M5 in total lifetime ownership costs over say 4-5 years? The discounts might make the M5 significantly cheaper, and only rather expensive to run rather horrendously expensive!

Then I guess I'd best stick the M5 on a cheap lease deal!
