For those of you who leased 335 coupes - how long?
How long do you keep your leases for? Why? Since leases are Minimum 2 years, and range to 5...what do you usually keep yours for? Also please post and indicate if you sold/terminated the lease early, like signed a 36 month lease but traded in or had someone take it over at 24 months.
I'm wondering because I'm looking at purchasing a 2012-13 335i coupe, and trying to get an idea of them coming in stock. I want CPO, M-Sport, and nav/premium audio (I think the Harmon Kardon?) at a minimum. Heated seats a plus. Aiming at a lease turn in for a 1 previous owner, relatively low mileage, plenty left on the warranty. Typical warranty is 4 year/50k miles, and CPO adds 2 years/ 50k miles to whatever is left, so I figure someone's 2-3 year old lease will have 3-4 years and 60-70k miles for me to drive (up to 100k total) before having to worry about anything. Meaning mileage on the lease should be around 30k max for a 2013 and 40k for a 2012 (preferably). I figure being leased means a reasonable effort was made to keep up on maintenance. But hey I could be wrong on all of this. What do you guys think? Edit - also, mainly interested in specifically coupe owners because of personality types that generally go for coupes vs sedans, m sport vs luxury, etc. but if you leased a 4 door either way I'm curious about all leases. most leases are three years more or less time the price goes way up so if you are looking for a 2012-2013 now is the time to look

I lease for 0 months. Never lease, save up until you can buy.
Many people I know never buy new, they usually grab a 2 y.o. CPO. I like new since I have no plans of ever getting rid of any cars, I just add to the stable. |

Don't lease
Most people that lease don't treat their cars with the best of care. It may have lower miles, but has probably been maintained as per BMW standards, which means super long oil change intervals, and you will need to bring it in for service shortly after you buy it guaranteed. Some local dealers won't change the oil on a CPO until it is specified by the computer, so make sure it has been done before you leave the dealer. I bought a CPO car with 25k on it and while it was cheaper than buying new it still didn't have all of the options I wanted, but I bought it because I needed a new car ASAP. CPO means nothing, the only thing that is a plus is the extended warranty.
