As I understand it, if you have a Samsung modern TV you'll not need it much as access to internet TV services on the firestick is replicated on the TV using Samsung apps eg BBC IPLAYER, ITV Player, Amazon Prime etc. Not sure if other manufacturers have followed Samsung.

But hey its dead cheap anyway.

I do have a modern Samsung with the Hub function. Never seen prime on it though? Maybe there's an app somewhere.

Thanks. I'll have a look on the hub tonight. It would help as I don't really have a spare HDMI socket for the stick.

Amazon Fire stick is brilliant and is a good piece of kit for the price. The main thing is being able to load Kodi (xbmc) onto it giving you a great media centre with hundreds of plugins that give you various streaming sites. I won't go into details but google it if you want to investigate further.

I have Amazon Fire TV box, not the stick. As a media streamer it's OK, but IMO Amazon Prime TV is not worth having (I thought it was going to be a lot better, hence buying the Amazon TV box). I pretty much only use the Amazon TV for streaming Netflix.

Beat me to it, this is the best use for it and it opens up a whole world of media access.

I also think is brilliant - cheap and pretty much plug and play - All I have done is buying a £1.78 AirReceiver app to enable AirPlay capabilities including mirroring.

Recommended.

Here instructions on how to find the Amazon app in your Samsung TV... key would be to see if it shows you the videos in HD - otherwise go for the stick.
