MPE Not adr approved, warranty issue

Hi Guys,

Spoke to my local dealer about getting the MPE fitted as apart of my order. They said to me

" its not ADR approved and if you fit it, you will void your warranty "

Is this true? or is my dealer just blowing smoke because they don't stock the MPE and dont want me going else where as I asked for a bunch of additional parts as well.

It's true... I contacted 2 dealers when I bought my car 8 months ago, and they said the same thing... Don't think it'll void your warranty completely... As its a BMW part afterall, at worst, it'll be like an aftermarket exhaust where that particular part won't be covered, the rest of the car should be fine

Garage List
The only reason it is not ADR approved is because BMW AU don't think the demand is high enough for our market so they haven't tested it here. The only ADR approved M Performance exhaust that can be bought from the dealers is for the F8X M cars.

It would be funny if they void your warranty because you are reducing backpressure in your exhaust causing catastrophic engine failure

Australia sucks... not even suprised...

Anything you do will basically void warranty with car manufacturers lol.

I might as well not pay the cash for the MPE and just get a proper aftermarket one.

Yes, I understand why some people (in other countries) get the m performance exhaust because it is covered under warranty.

But in Australia? It's illogical to get the m performance part as benefits vs cost is heavily imbalanced, it does absolutely nothing apart from minor sound enhancement, any exhaust shop can make a better customised axle back exhaust for 35% of the price, while for a fraction more, you can get a cat-back exhaust for an even better sound and freer exhaust and better performance

We only carry the version that requires the M Performance rear diffuser (longer tail pipes) in stock. The version for the standard diffuser cover could be a 2-3 week wait.

For those of you who haven't seen the difference the M Performance exhaust makes you can check out our YouTube video below!
