I just wanted to put these things down. I feel very strongly about it and just hope we can get the message across. It won't be about CF roofs, S engines, power domes etc but simply realistic items that should not be excluded.

1. M Mirrors - it will just finish it off. There is no excuse. Every M car has had them. End of discussion. Rubbish about it being a cost thing. BMW can wear it!

2. Unique M seats as an option- M2 is the drivers car. 2er seats look lame. Many examples of cheaper cars have better unique seats over their base series. At least make them an option like the competition.

3. M button on steering wheel

Please support the cause lol

I agree on both. My neighbor bought a brand new Ford Fiesta ST and it came with Recaros from the factory. Of course it was a $2k option. Heck I would pay $3k for this option on the M2.

But seats and mirrors you can change on your own. So it's really not a huge deal for me anymore.

What ever will you do without an M button on the steering wheel!? Or pedestrian mirrors!

Make new threads about it, that's what!

Look at it compared to the 1M. BMW saved on the carry over motor, but splurged on the damn mirrors.

With the M2, they actually do significant work on the engine, saving on things like the useless mirrors, and people bitch.

Lopping 8" off the back of an M4 doesn't save you $10k people.

Is this a serious post? They decided to put the money into things that actually matter, and bring you a very cost-competitive car.

Point is, why do you care so much about mirrors? Do they affect literally anything about the car when you're in the driver's seat?

I think the standard mirrors look better than the M3/4 mirrors. I don't really understand the little wing thing...looks goofy IMO.

Would have liked better seats...although NOT like the ones in the M3/4 but more like the seats you can get in the Mercedes as an option. There is a thread around here with a pic of the MB seats.

1. Is not a cost thing, they don't fit on the 2er. The side mount is the problem,to fix it adds more production cost.

2. The regular seats are supportive enough if you want to be truly unique- M Performance will cater for your needs.

3. M2 is the "Basic" M car so it does not take the high tech luxury route so it is channelling the entry Ms from the 2002 to the 1er M Coupe. It is not complex as progress as limited. Meaning it remains as Raw as it looks.
It knows its audience and it knows its audience will be even more thrilled that the car is not overladen with gimmicks and complexity.

Not that I care that the M2 doesn't have an M button but how was the 1M able to have it? I know all it did was change throttle response in the 1M so does the M2 have the ability to change throttle response...M button or not?

Is that a hint from Scott that M performance will be re-launching a new seat?

Finally...this should end "m-mirror gate!"

However I do like my M1/2 buttons in my M4 as it's much easier to manipulate the various settings. Plus if my wife's in the car she can't tell I'm getting ready to play with someone.

Hazey, I give you kudos for trying mate but this tune is getting a little monotonous. Perhaps that M3/4 song is playing now and it's time to make a call.

Garage door opener? I don't see it in the mirror. I fuss everyone who buys might have a garage to store the car.

Hey at least it comes with leather standard, unlike the M3/4

Seriously though, can we add optional adaptive suspension to the list? I like my cars like I like my girls (apparently) bipolar.

Yup...total let down. It could have been such a lay up for the design team, don't do anything and just relaunch the 1M.
