Mirror Cap Removal

I've been seaching the forum for a removal guide of the mirror caps (getting mine painted) and it seems to be as simple as just pulling them off...is this true?

I was wondering if it really is that simple and if there is any advice for removing them without any issues. Thanks.

Yes, it is that simple. I used a plastic trim tool to get started, but they came off easily.

Just give them a good yank. When reinstalling make sure you have tabs lined up and push straight on, all tabs in at once. Don't start at one end and work your way around.
