Winter Tire question
I have these rims that I purchased in 2010 when I still had a BMW 320i.
MRR GT-1 black/polished lip front offset: 38 Rear offset: 45 Front tire size: 225/35/19 Rear tire size: 255/35/19 Front Rim size: 19"x8.5 Rear rim size: 19"x9.5 I will be receiving my new 2015 335i M-Performance Edition (Phase 2) in October and I am wondering if these rims can fit this car for my winter set. I was also wondering if you can purchase winter tires to fit these rims? I live in Vancouver/Port Coquitlam BC so any suggestions where I can buy winter tires would be appreciated. |

You can run them, though generally you want a narrower wheel/tire combo but you can use the stock 19" tire size of 225/40R19 and 255/35R19. Depending on what kind of winter tire you are looking for I think Pirelli has Sottozeros (RFT) and believe Nokian Hakka R2 (non-RFT) are now available in that size.

Those rims look like they will fit, but the rear will be very aggressive (stick out 14.7mm more than stock). Since alot of f30 owners seem to put 15mm spacers in the back anyways, I think you should be fine. You can test out different offsets at willtheyfit.com
Since you're in the lower mainland, you should probably stick with performance winter tires, rather than a traditional winter tire. It doesn't snow nearly enough here to warrant a full blown chunky winter tire, at least in my opinion. I bought bridgestone lm60's last year and thought they were pretty good. It only snowed for like a day though. If you don't buy runflat, you'll probably want to get a tire repair kit or a BCAA membership as well incase you do get a flat. |
