CF mirror cap wind noise!!

Anyone else having issues with a annoying screech or wind noise coming from the drivers side CF Mirror caps? I am getting a horrible noise and wanted to see if anyone had the same issue or solution for a fix?!

Remove and reinstall. Sometimes it will go away. You can also run the tiniest pit of clear RTV sealant into the crevice to seal it from leaking air to the inside of the cap (which makes a literal whistle) and it will eliminate the notice and be virtually invisible.

I am not familiar with these caps to be honest. Idk if the caps your talking about are a stick on cover or if they actually replace the factory mirror cover.

We do at BMW get some complaints about wind noise from customers coming from the mirror area. Some have been related to gap issues or damaged components, But most are from having 3m placed on them. If your cap is installed correctly and u have 3m over it... try taking some painting tape and placing it over the edges of the 3m on the mirror...then drive to the speeds u heard the noise at.... once their reach out and try to slowly peel strips of tape off one at a time until the noise comes back....then u will know where its coming from...

If this is not ur case... disregard everything i said lol. Just trying to help :P
