H8 Halogen Bulb Fog upgrade
According to realOEM the fog light bulb on an MSport bumper is an H8 bulb. However I have heard conflicting comments where people have H11 halogen bulbs in their housing. The only way I can find out is prying the wheel well housing open and pulling out the bulb. For a 5 series an Msport bumper has H11 bulbs whereas the regular bumpers have H8.
Can anyone confirm if they have an H8 35W or H11 55W bulb in their fog lights for the Msport bumpers on F31?? I would like to keep my fogs standard and don't want any LED or HID bulbs etc. I prefer the yellow hue for piercing through snow, rain and fog. I also do not want any bulbs with Blue coatings etc. If the stock bulbs are 35W H8 can i place 55w H11 or even better 65 W H9? Has anyone done this? Advice welcomed. |

I can confirm they're H8's 35W but I cannot answer the other questions since I have no knowledge on that. I've changed mine to a different H8's because that's what they recommended to me in store.

I'm putting in 35W H8 7500K GP Thunders tod...morrow. Too dark and scary now. They are coated blue, but I don't think it will matter that much. People are still complaining that these 7500K are too yellow. I think they aren't actually 7500k but they are attempting to emulate with with the blue coating.
My goal is to match the factory Xenon's as close as possible. These were fairly cheap. I'll take a photo tomorrow after they're in and attach. [Edit] Maybe you don't care since this isn't an M-Sport bumper (just a sport bumper). |

Before and after photos. Taken roughly same time of day, two days in a row. Camera white balance was pre-calibrated to 100W-replacement daylight LED bulbs. Sorry for the blurriness of the images, but the important part is plainly visible. The blue painted on the fog lights are hardly visible. I can show a photo of that took. I had to get quite close for the camera to actually pick up on the blue (but I just used a cellphone camera for that).
Impressions: Not a perfect match but very, very close. These lights should be stock. |

These aren't LED. They are just well-matched for the BMW Xenon color:

Gabreigns,
Be cautious with higher rated halogen bulbs....can potentially melt fog housing and other electrical damage. I bought/installed these for fogs: http://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Bright...=ijdmtoy+3000k These for headlights: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o04_s00
