Sounds like you are spending money on stuff that is not broken.

Replaced a lot of it out of suspicion and I would rather replace it now than be stuck on the road

At your miles and particular case, I would focus more on the suspension.

I appreciate what you are trying to do, but you are chasing rabbits down a hole. You are just guessing about preemptive failures and trying to prevent them and possibly spending money unnecessarily, which could be used for repairs that do leave you on the side of the road.

Generally manufacturers tell you what parts should be replaced as preventative maintenance. Your parts list seems excessive for a 120,000 mile car. For instance the clutch; was it slipping at 120,000? Generally clutches give you plenty of notice prior to failure. How about the pan gasket; is it leaking so bad that it would cause engine failure? I've never seen a pan gasket leave someone on the side of the road unless they've neglected checking the oil level, which in an E90 is done for you and lets you know when the engine needs oil. Same for the OFHG. And vacuum lines. It would be smarter to have the car smoke tested to see if there are any real leaks in the vacuum system. Additionally a vacuum leak will generally show up as an emissions control device failure and throw a SES light. Another exapmle is the VANOS solenoids, I just clean and swap mine every 50,000 miles; they have 288,000 on them and I follow BMWs long OCI schedule.

And if you think any of those new parts will increase the resale value, you’d be mistaken. The cost of replacing those parts will never be reflected in the value of the car on a dollar for dollar basis, so it’s a losing proposition for you and only a benefit for the prospective buyer.

The crank just might snap in two - are you sure you want to risk driving that ticking time bomb down the street..?

As Efthreeoh said, what are the consequences of waiting?

The one thing I would replace is the water pump because when it goes, you are stuck on the side of the road. I was in a BMW indy shop today and a woman was picking up her car with 75K miles after being stuck. Most service advisors tell me water pumps usually last 75-125K miles.

The thermostat is usually changed at the same time.

Classic 335iNavyGuy thread: asks for opinions then gets bent out of shape when people give opinions LOL.

Hey, you asked for advice. I gave you some good advice. I'm an old dude with over a million miles of driving and have kept cars for as long as 18 years and over 280,000 miles. I've taken two BMWs past 250,000 miles, an Acura past 230,000 (all cars I bought new). I do almost all my own work DIY. You can replace every part on the entire car if you want to, but it's stupid. Fuel lines develop pinholes over time, keep a car long enough and you'll find that out.

If you want to waste money on a depreciating asset then by all means knock yourself out, but you don't need to be a dick about it...

Well he could replace the vibration damper every 50,000 in an effort to prevent crank failure.

Coils
Water Pump
Thermostat
Belt/Tensioner
Engine mounts
Low pressure fuel pump (upgrade while doing this)
High pressure fuel pump
Charge pipe (only go aftermarket on this)

That should pretty much cover all the normal N54 issues on top of what you have done. If you intend to keep the car for a while I get it. These are not reliable cars and it makes sense to try to head off the common problems.

How can you know not to read it if you don't read it first to find out it is not relevant to your question?

LOL

Thats probably his best bet... but it might have an unknown issue like bad airbags or some other fatal flaw that the first 1000 souls need to sacrifice themselves by so the rest of the world can say "Hey, maybe something is not right here..."
