Brakepad replacement labor costs?

Hi All,

I normally change pads myself but don't really feel like doing it this time around... any idea on what I should expect labor wise to replace front and rear brake pads? My carbotechs were just delivered today and so far the quotes I've seen seem pretty high...

Zip is 92618 (South Cali) if that helps.

Assume you track teh car with Carbotechs. Do you realize that changing the pads is <30 minutes yourself with the stock calipers? The calipers are not required to be removed, and the pads slide out after removing the pin and clip.

Regardless, a shop shouldn't charge more than an hour labor for these types of pads.

It is SUPER quick to do yourself... I bet someone charges you $100 for something you can do in 35-40 min.

You should DIY. With the new calipers, changing pads is a breeze. I did all 4 in less than 30 minutes.

I actually did that after the few replies I received already. Problem is that the new carbotechs squeal like I've never hard before so I removed them shortly after... Apparently you need to toss them on with new rotors according to carbotech.

I'm guessing the squeal is because they're not at operating temperature.

I use Carbotech XP10 and XP08, front and rear on my S2000. Dead quiet on the track and squeal like little girls on the street.
