Steering Wheel Swap Question

Is it possible to swap out the rim portion of a steering wheel without changing the hub? For example, could you take the rim off an M-sport steering wheel and install it onto the hub from a sport steering wheel?

Why would you do that when you can just swap the whole thing?

But to answer your question, no I believe it's cast as one single piece.

Because used M-sport wheels with paddle cutouts are few and far between but sport wheels with paddle cutouts pop up all the time. The only difference between them appears to be the rim.

My M-sport package car was ordered with paddle-shift delete (why!?!) and I want them back.
