White or Red LED Brake Light Replacement
Hi all,
I recently changed my front and rear indicators for LED which I brought from HorizonLED. I'm so impressed that I'd like replace my brake lights to LED. The rear brake light bulb appears to white, so when I asked Horizons they said I should go for a red LED. Would this make any difference considering externally the brake glass/plastic is already red. Thanks. |

Hey man, you should definitely go for red. It adds more hue to the brake light and if you want some pictures check out my recent post with LED fogs + 50W brake lights from Horizon.

Yes, brake light LEDs are red. I got a set from Horizon. I made some videos in my build thread. Check out the first post for the link.

Red LEDs for your brake lights; have put in Amber LEDs for my rear turns and they are great

I've noticed that horizon are now doing a 30w for the brake lights. In your option were the 25w as bright and visible as the stock halogen???? Thanks. |

Yupp, the 25w's were as bright as the Halogen ones, the only difference was that they were faster to turn on and off. If I was you I'd go for the 50W ones. Check this thread. I have a comparison between the 25w & 50w ones.

Yeah I checked out your thread. Both 25w and 50w look pretty decent. Just a little worried that the 50w would be to bright. This is dumb already got the 50w for my indicators and they look fine to me. Thanks.

Haha no man it's alright. IMO they aren't too bright, the extra strength just adds more of a red tint to it than strength.
