They are pulling people over in NYC for front plates

Hey guys & gals - just a warning that there has been a crack down in NYC for not having a front plate. I was pulled over twice- didn't get a ticket but will be inevitable if they continue the crackdown. Today I installed the Platypus tow hook bracket (from cravenspeed.com) - seems pretty sturdy and didn't interfere with parking sensors. Looks much better than any center bracket.

Good luck out there... was fun while it lasted.

Or just put a bracket on then you don't have to pay to play? Confused by statement

I haven't and don't ever plan to put front license plate on any of my rides. Myself, and other people, think that the plates ruin the look of front of the car. Therefore, we don't put one on and we "pay to play"

I find the front empty without the plate, with a nice M or bmw frame it completes the car. Rarely i see a bmw or any other car without the front plate, so i must not be the only one who thinks the same, plus it's the law

You've rarely seen anyone without a front license plate I guess u haven't been looking at anyone's pics on this forum. In fact, I don't even remember seeing a pic of someone's M3/M4 with a front plate. Regarding, it's the law ... I guess you always drive 55/65mph on the highway or whatever the speed limit is, RIGHT? :

I refuse to drill in to my front bumper to install a front license plate bracket on any of my cars.

It is the law and all. I was pulled over three times for no front plate in my old M3 that came up to NY from Florida. I went and got a bracket that screwed in to the tow eye provision.

Personally looks are not as important as staying "under" the radar to me.

I out the front plate on my M4 and drilled into the bumper. I don't like the off center look of the tow hook mount and I purchased the Skene Design bracket and decided not to use it as the plate did not blend into the bumper as smoothly as the OEM bracket.

Or just don't put a plate on the car at all and they can't fault you for not having a front one.

Didn't say I follow everything yes, on the forum are plenty but i was talking about what I've seen on the streets. If I would have liked the front bumper empty for sure I would not have put it on. Cops here don't care.

NYC - you think the police there would have bigger problems to worry about you know like murder, prostitution, drugs and those scumbags that throw their chewed gum in the street.

I think you missed the point.

As a new yorker you should know about all the shit that happens in the city. For them to be spending their time on stupid no front plate violations is ridiculous.

No doubt same issues here in NC only difference is police don't have to worry about front license plate enforcement or high taxes or good tasting bagels.

No I got his point entirely... You missed mine I guess. To single out ny for such things was what I found to be ridiculous...his implications were clear
