Shelby Mustang > Me

I guess I've let my confidence in the good ole N54 get the best of me yesterday lol.. On my way to school last night as I proceded to go through a green light, a shelby mustang (newer body style not sure of year) had turned onto the road I was traveling on and he was a few cars ahead of me.. I heard his exhaust rumbling like crazy as he accelerated and I saw he was lowered a bit with some big tires and a fancy carbon fiber diffuser so I imagine he had some work done but I was like "ahh, its just a mustang"..! Well me not really caring that it was a mustang decide to speed up a bit and get next to him, he rolls down his window and says "stock n54?" and I shockingly replied with a "yes, just recently got it" and he just kinda smiled and said "you don't wanna run this car" and stupid me says "why not"... Well at this point we were only doing like 40 in a 55 so we could hear each other better, then he goes "ok on 3 honks 1,2,3" and when I say he left me like a sitting duck, I think that's quite the understatement haha.. This dudes acceleration shook my whole car and he pulled about 10-15 cars on me in probably 2-3 seconds!! By the time I got up to the speed limit he was already slowing down lol..

I'm not sad that I got molly whopped by a rustang, I'm actually happy that at least now I know where I stand with my car haha.. We pulled up next to each other at the next red light and he told me he's a BMW tech at a local performance shop in Naples, FL and that he's had a few 335's and blablabla, so he already knew he'd kill my car, i was just ignorant I guess lol.. I asked him what he had done to it and he hit his 2 step rev limiter and I have to admit, it sounded like a friggin beasttt!! He said he was around 700 to the wheels, but didn't tell me what he had done he just said "a few things" which I imagine meant he probably went broke hooking it up lol.. But he did tell me a bunch of things I could do to my car so I knew he knew BMW's (JB4, downpipes, etc etc)

Case in point, if you have a stock N54 and you see a clean muscle car rumbling like a damn race boat, and they offer to run you, just say no.. k bye

Lol you seem like you used to own a Honda...

You would get crushed by a stock 2011+ GT. What makes you think you can hang with a GT500 especially a modded on at that?

2007 BMW 328i  [10.00]
In the future, if a guy asks you whether you have a "stock N54," and then tells you that you can't run with him, that should probably be a sign that he knows what he is talking about. How many BMW drivers do not even know what a N54 is?

A gt500, stock will win against a modded 335i, but at the end of the day if you wanted to have fun, who cares if you won or lost..

You would've probabaly lost even if you had a RB turbo Fullbolt on 335 lol.

The same generation stock mustang GT would beat a stock 335.

On that same note, I probably lost confidence in my 328 the other day when I couldn't keep up with a new Porsche 911 Turbo. And he didn't even know I was trying... I feel your pain.

That's bad advice.
He'd probably have to dump a new m3's worth of cash in mods to chase the Shelby... Why would he want to do that? To have the fastest 3 series in the world? Lol...

Not saying to chase down shelby's, but just to have more fun with the car. Seems like you don't know what that means...lol

Oh so the 335 vs 328 discussion again? Dude, tease away, I'm not gonna go down that road. I'm happy with my choice in cars.

Actually I did used to own a Honda, a couple of them (one being a true Type R when I was living in Okinawa) but I don't really get what that has to do with anything.. If it has anything to do with my mustang expectations, then I blame that on my vehicle history, track kills, street kills, so on and so forth.. Aside from my built/boosted EM1 I had walked off on plenty of gt's and other V8's with my built/boosted single cam so I didn't realize that was quite a feat.. The dude in the mustang was cool, it wasn't like some road race of BMW vs Ford for pink slips haha, I stated that I knew his car was a beast I just wanted to see how beast it was lol.. My cars stock so it's not like I had high expectations in the first place.. I just let my inner child get the best of me

@eat.sleep.race - that's what im sayin, it was just for fun it's not like i expected to win haha I just wanted to see where i stood.. And I found shortly after, that against that car, I stood still haha! And when he said "Stock N54" I knew that he knew BMW's so that's when I realized he knew his BMW lingo but it was just for fun it's not like anybodys feelings got hurt haha..

Yeah I would say if your driving a stock n54 car to stay away from any of these new generation v8 muscle cars. You might win against a 5.7 hemi car but the 6.1 hemi, 5.0's, and the ls cars you will lose. Hopefully this gives the op motivation to buy parts lol.

Glad/surprised people here are ok with this story instead of insisting their jb4 tuned 3s could take on a Shelby.

I do, sorry, I thought you meant something else.
But I really stand by my comment especially now, because I have lots of fun in a 328, so he doesn't need faster to have more fun.

He needs to stop racing 700+ hp cars lol unless seeing them pull up so fast is his idea of fun. I can dig that too.

It has to do with the fact that honda owners usually follow the stereotype and rev at/try and race anything they see.
