Intermittent Misfire - Car shake/vibrations
I've recently bought a BMW 320i 2007 (approx 6 months ago) with 70k mileage.
Around 3 months ago I started to experience the car shaking/vibrating on a cold start (during the winter). Intermittently with these symptoms Id also get the Engine light on and disappear after a few minutes (sometimes hours). On a couple of occasions I also experience a misfire and subsequent lack of power. During one of these times I got the codes checked out (as follows): 30E6 Nitrogen Oxide Sensor, dynamic 2AF9 Nitrogen Oxide Sensor, deceleration check 29CD Misfiring Cylinder 1 2AF4 Nitrogen Oxide Sensor, electrical 2AF2 Nitrogen Oxide Sensor, lambda linear 2AF6 Nitrogen Oxide Sensor, lambda binary 30E0 Nitrogen Oxide Sensor, offset The mechanics said change the coil which I did but no change in symptoms. During a different problem I got fixed (by a different mechanic) I asked him if he notices the vibrations which he did and said when it's more of an issue to take it back to him. He also mentioned there was a discrete whining sound when accelerating which he believes is part of the issue because of a possible faulty cat (I.e change of cat should sort vibrations out aswell). However, I would like to know if anyone know what a combination of these codes actually mean? Can or should a mechanic be able to put their finger on the issue from the codes alone? |
