Headlight Issue- Headlight Pointing Straight Up!

Hey everyone, I've tried searching for headlight issues where the headlight would point straight up, but I've only found answers regarding headlights that are pointing down, due to the car hitting a pothole and the headlight "popping out of socket".

Has anyone had an issue of the headlight pointing straight up? I tried adjusting the light with the adjuster screw, but that only gives the light play. What I mean by that is at maximal height adjustment, the light is snug and in place. When I adjust the screw to lower the headlight, the headlight stays in place, but there is now play so that I can lower the headlight if I push against it. But it pops right back up if I stop pushing down on the light.

Any and all help is appreciated!

The headlight on one side is aiming
downwards and the ball socket (pivot) is
disconnected
• Remove the rear cover and check if the
ball socket (pivot) is disconnected
• Reconnect the ball socket and install the
additional headlight bracket to reduce
the headlight

Thank you- I will try this!

And Jwalker87, it isn't both headlights. It's just one of the lights, so I do not think it is the sensor. Thanks though!

Ah I didn't realize that. Yeah, sounds like something mechanically wrong with the headlight itself then.
