Charge Battery
Bit of a strange one my car announced today ""low battery - battery discharging whilst stationary" warning on my 2012 F31 320d. I do a mix of journeys but literally an hour before had spent an 1.5 hours doing err 70mph on the motorway. Is it being too sensitive, is there a known issue or is it simply that I need to charge the battery (which seems a bit odd).

Happened to me a few times with my X3. Usually when sitting with the ignition on but engine off (ferries are typical). I think it's just a message of what could happen.
When I uploaded my new maps on my X3 for the nav it switched everything off until I started the engine. Lots of fail safe systems, don't worry about it. |

Had that a few times on Mrs 1 series which only does about 8 miles daily - less at the moment as off !!!
Also has black vue running. Cure was a good run to my work about 50 mile round trip. I presume a few hours on charger would have the same effect. Or you've got a drain on battery but if this was the care the long run wouldn't be a fix as would drain down again rapidly. Don't think the efficient dynamics help as I think battery only charges on the overrun or when decelerating - although may be wrong on that one. |
