Metal creek , ping

Just wondering if anyone else get this on their 328i or 335i.

When ever I pull away or go into reverse get a single metal clink / creak / ping very odd as if something clicks into place.

Yes.

I don't get that noise.

The noise you describe is the concentric thrust bearing on your RH differential, probably dropped and has started scoring the disc. Great risk if fire with this one I'm afraid. See the press for early Ferrari F430s busting into flames.

I would suggest you start wearing a nomex suit.

Do you have an extinguisher in the car?

Might be a stone in the suspension spring. Had it once on an Audi. Gave a real ping/twang

Could also be anti squeal shims on brake pads moving and resettling according to new rotational direction of wheels.
