A tyre deflation question
I wish to fill my non RF tyres on the R with Nitrogen. In order to this the guy at Kwikfit deflates the tyre when the car is not jacked up so that the deflated tyre is deformed due to the weight of the car. Will this damage the tyre? This was not such an issue IMO with my BMW's RF Tyres.
So I ask, is this ok to do? Thanks.

Of course it is, it's not like you will be driving on it, he's just doing it to add weight to deflate it as much as possible.
Even with the nominal weight on that corner it still will not deflate 100%. If you are that fussed why not just ask him to remove each one as he does it. If he does not agree, pay him for balancing. That way he will have to remove them. |

Firstly, you are letting Kwik Fit touch your lovely new car?!
Secondly, watch this and decide whether it's really worth it.

We used to fill aircraft tyres with air, then we moved to using nitrogen.
Can't say was much difference in how often we inflated them. I guess if a person is keeping a car long term, then using a nitrogen may be ok. For most of us nope. |
