M3 Oil Change
Trying to find someone who can help me change my oil (I can do it back want to get the correct procedures for the next time).
Called my dealership and they want $234 dollars to do this. Insane. So with my BMW CCA distount I purchased the 7 quarts of 5w30 needed and the filter kit and the replace pan bolt and nut for less than $70. Need recommendation? Maybe Clem can help me out... Of course I will pay this person. |

Clem is going to take care of me if the weather ever cooperates.
$195 is still high every since these models don't use 10w/60 anymore. Oh well, have to pay to play. |

Welcome. Yeah Probably right here, no fine print M exclusions per se but does say "some models maybe higher".

Get with Paul and he can introduce you to Clem.
I think the next chapter meeting is this upcoming Thursday in Columbia. I plan on coming out since the weather is "supposed" to be better. |

Just folks doing oil changes in between BMW scheduled oil service intervals. Basically 15k down to 7.5k or so between changes, which are not covered by the 4yr/50k.

Because I am not trying to have oil in my car for 10k miles. Think about it, that's a lot of stop and go, cold and heat. Remember BMW use to only change it after 15k miles but I suspect they were paying a lot in engine related warranty claims especially since most of their lineup of cars are turbo's (which run hotter).
I had an 08 335i that I changed the oil every 7500 miles and still had spun connector rod bearing on cylinders 5 and 6. I didn't track the car or run it low on oil. Car only had 74k on clock and started to knock. This is my last chance with BMW so every 5k for me, no matter what. |
