BMW M3/M4 Break-in period

I tried searching the forum but couldnt find anything on this.

I am curious what BMW recommends on how to break in the car. I have not taken delivery of mine yet so I havent seen the owners manual.

Sorry if this has been asked or if there is a thread, please direct me to it!

Otherwise, what RPM's do most people keep it under?
How many kms before break in service?
Get aggressive with the throttle up to the max rpm?
Hard braking?

Keep RPMs under 5500.
Vary your RPMs under this ceiling.
BMW states that you should not exceed 105 mph.
Break in occurs at 1200 miles.
Only change at break in is activation of launch control.

For more info, go to the maintenance section of the forum for the F8x. Hope this helps.

Garage List
Download the BMW Driver's Guide app to your ipad or phone, and enter the VIN# (or use a VIN for one of the autoshow photos you can find on this site) and you will have access to an electronic owner's manual.
