OFF-TOPIC: Chris Harris' custom vintage 911

Nothing to do with BMWs, but surely any petrolhead would love this?:

Yes, the Singers are lovely. I think they seem to do a lot more little bespoke fittings for the looks, but I think maybe Chris has gone to town more on the suspension set up for his.

Either way, something like that would be high up on my lottery win wishlist. I can't think of anything that looks so much fun hoon around in. How could you drive one on a sunny day on a good road and not be the happiest man on the planet?

As beautiful as they are I just don't get classic cars.

Even if I had the money for something like a 250GTO, I would rather spend it on a load of modern supercars.

I like the looks, but not sure about the drive of classic cars, but these all have more modern engineering underneath.

Given the number of modernised retro models I guess it's something which is getting more popular.

Rich mans game though. The eagle roadster version of an e-type is close to half a million I think.

Big 911 fan. Still want a 911/930 Turbo from the 80's.

I think the "oldest" porker I'd be interested in would be a 959.

I'm not clued on enough to know of it is considered a classic yet, hell I don't even know what their worth at the moment, but I do know if I had one I'd most certainly make full use of it, and not have it as a show piece in my garage.

They're many hundreds of thousands I think. If you can find one!

That is one sexy car. The CGT that is......come to think of it complete opposite of a 959

I would love to build a 911 like Chris Harris has. Nice little project.

The CGT is a good looking car if a little bit like a souped up boxster!

Gordon, remember your thread about a syndicate to have shared ownership of a weekend toy?

That would be something I'd love to do with something like that Tuthill Porsche.
I expect if you did it right then it could be a good investment too, the way classic cars are appreciating.

It does look a little like a Boxster from a distance, but when you get up close it has amazing detail. Definitely one of the better supercars, if you want quite a few boxes ticked. Less shouty than a Ferrari, More capable than an Aston....and then there is the sound...shame they cost more than my house.

Syndicate, hell yeah that would make a great weekend toy. Might start looking for a donor chassis.
