BQ/WedgePerformance + TRUEFORM TECH INTAKE AND INLET SYSTEM + RB TURBOS
Hi guys,
Just wanted to give you all some VERY exciting updates from my build and share some pics with you guys. Long story short, after breaking the 335xi 1/4 record a few months ago I have been on a quest to improve the car. That being said over those few months I have been blessed and have been given the opportunity to work with 3 extremely knowledgable, honest, and cool people, WedgePerformance, Brian@TrueFormTech and Rob@RBTurbos. Without getting too wordy, over the last 48 hours i installed a new set up RB turbos (15T wheel, upgraded thrust, clipped wheel) AND Brian May's TrueForm Technology intake/inlet turbo setup. The turbos speak for themselves, but I really wanted to shine some light on Brian's "kit." This thing is beautiful, craftsmanship is top notch, install although time consuming went in without a hitch. To answer a few questions, yes this is the same kit that mad 600+ HP on RB turbos, and yes this is the kit many people and VENDORS on the "other forum" bashed, name called, doubted and even called Brian a liar. I will be providing some testing over the next couple of days, dynos, and hopefully taking my car somewhere warm to get some runs in. The car even using the same map, not tuned for the new hardware feels and sounds COMPLETELY different. I have been using RBs on the stock intake/inlet system for a while, and with this upgraded plumbing, even using my old tune, the car feels like a BEAST. Below are a few pics, not sure what order they'll load in, but my favorite is looking at how pancaked that tube is, and the comparison to Brian's. The Dyno is from a few days ago (sorry for crappy pic) I used the same map that i ran the 11.3 on at the track. Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned -DD |

Excellent work!
These independent results should speak highly of the inlet modifications, we can't wait to see these results!! Good luck!! Rob |

Yeah...when I pulled that tube out, and saw how flat it was I just laughed. It was definitely a squeeze, but Brian's plumbing fit perfect with a little room to spare too |

Would love to hear more about the engineering and an explanation as to how the expansion in the intake track helps with the efficiency... Looks like a nice setup and I'm sure it has to be a huge improvement over the restrictive stock pipes! Can't wait for the results...

Looks good, looking forward to seeing results.
I do think it's, at best, premature to compare results of one unreleased product to another that's also minimally released. Clearly though, progress is progress and I'm really looking forward to seeing results from both camps! P.S. I like the expansion chamber. Interesting stuff!

About time there are starting to come forth. I love how other vendors scrambled to make rubber pipes after TFT showed these. It's a nice breath of fresh air seeing somebody that knows fluid dynamics make products around their knowledge and not just rerouting pipes around the engine block.

It's really a shame how instead of embracing the data that Brian presented, it was met with such negativity.
I do find it funny that another turbo manufacturer did say that upgraded intake systems and inlets "wouldn't net much" and it is all about "the wheels" but suddenly they're making them...seems kinda silly to spend money on production for "not much" gains Stay tuned guys...will be dyno-ing soon, hopefully within the next 24-48 hours I'd post some videos of the speedometer, but in all seriousness, at this point I HAVE to have both hands on wheel going WOT lol |

Looks good. Where do the vacuum canisters get relocated to with this intake kit?
