Crisis Help!!

Crisis first BMW
Hey guys I'm having a bit of a crisis so I purchased a 328i with bab and sport package for 31k at 72k mileage but thing is I feel like I was forced to leave a deposit he was a very sketchy dealer is that a good price. Basically 4 year warranty or 80k on top when I pick it up tomorrow , I'm just nervous and I regret it I don't know why. Basically the car was on for 22,800 plus 4000 for warranty taxes and on a 72 month finance came to 30ish the guy also lied about Bluetooth audio it's not capable I couldn't do it,help anyone to assure me that it was a good deal

I don't know if market prices are inflated more in Canada than in my area nor do I know the year of the car in question, but it sounds like you paid ~$26,000 USD for the car, and if you have 72,000km / 44,700mi on it and got an ADDITIONAL 4 years/80km miles warranty on it, you might have done alright depending on the year of the car.

My experience, and this varies per geographic location obviously, 2 years ago I purchased my 328i with 42,500mi for $18,500 from a local chain of dealers where someone had traded the car in. It was not at a BMW dealer. They offered me a 90 day warranty on the car included. I asked them if the car had CPO warranty. They told me no - they didn't know what they had. But I knew otherwise and knew the car actually did have CPO since I had checked with BMW and the CarFax also indicated it had been sold as a CPO vehicle to the previous owner. So I feel like I got a pretty great price given that I had a year and a half of CPO left on the car. That CPO warranty saved me ~8-10K in repairs.

As for your bluetooth audio concern, you have two options:
1. Bluetooth dongle like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTC450-.../dp/B009NLTW60
--Important to find one that supports aptX bluetooth codec like this one does as it provides the best possible audio quality over bluetooth.

2. You can do an AirPlay install in the car if you use Apple devices. The basic advantage of AirPlay is that it's lossless, so if you use lossless music on your iOS device it's worth having. You can check out my thread on AirPlay install:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1002984
There's also folks who've done it with the AirPort Express but I used something different.

I do hope you got a good price and you may have depending on the age of the vehicle.

With that mileage its probably an 07/08 maybe an 09. the average price for an 07 in the US with that mileage is 8,000 to 9,000 USD.... equal to 9,400 - 10,600 CAD... we need more info man..

EDIT:
you can pick a 2011 328i up in my area from 18,900 CAD - 21,000 CAD..

In your area theres a 2011 323i with 72k for 17,200 CAD.. also there a 2011 325i for 14,000 CAD..

I have a feeling you've been hosed unless im missing something.. if you haven't pulled the trigger just yet i'd wait..

your car price is decent and warranty sounds decent but wheres the extra 5k coming from? you said car price 22k + 4k for warranty = 26k... which is closer to where you need to be man not 31k

Your signature states a "2011 328xi". A 2011 328xi with 72,000km for 31K with the 80Km warranty looks like a high retail price but it doesn't seem like they have you fully bent over with your hands tied to your ankles. I purchased a extended warranty on my wife's 2006 E90 325i and never once had to use it!
Warranties are a gamble and most of the time you loose on the $$$ game, on the other hand, My 2006 M5 had to have the main journal bearing's replaced and the SMG trans pump replaced and it saved me $9 grand US.

The one thing about a well cared for 328 is they will last for quite a while and the won't cost you an arm and a leg, they're good dependable cars when cared for. Hopefully someone in the Toronto area will chime in that knows current pricing.

Does not seem like a good price to me..

I paid 25k for a 328i sport package almost fully loaded with 38k miles on it that was only 3 years old at the time and I think I paid about 2k too much.

thing is though theres a ton of 2011 3-series in his area for only 14k-17k CAD lol so even at those prices your looking at 18k-21k CAD with a warranty.. that's where im confused about the whole situation.. I personally wouldn't pull the trigger on this one but that's just me.. as I said before I value my money diff than most and even if it was only 1k over BB I wouldn't do it..

I think the consensus is it's overpriced and then the warranty cost and then 72 Month fin...

not sure about the east but up here in Alberta I found 2011 328xi fully loaded with 63k km for just under 25k (and that is just the asking price, I am sure they will go down a bit when it comes to selling), no sport package but that is around 2K extra so I would think if you do not have bluetooth then you do not have navigation and other options, looks to me like you are paying high premium for what you are getting. But one think is for sure, even if you put down a deposit, this does not obligates you to finalize the purchase. I believe we have a law in Canada that you have up to 48 hours to change your mind when it comes to major purchase like a car in your example. So if you don't feel good about the deal you are getting, walk away.
See this add about what I found for just under 25 K

Yeah dude. Sales guy and manager both told me no warranty other than theirs on it. I didn't mention of course that I had seen their free carfax on their site and it showed the car was sold as CPO which means I was going to win...

Not to mention they gave me $6500 trade in for a 2005 loaded Merc. Sable that used to belong to my grandma. It only had 40K on it when I traded it in to them lol. So my loan ended up only being $12K.

I had my suspicions confirmed when I took the car in for the battery cable recall a few weeks after I got it and they said the idler pulley was bent and needed replacement. They asked if I'd like to do that for $50 under CPO and I said, "yes please." Saved me $750 right there.

if only i could have gotten to the bottom of this rough idle before the CPO ran out. Dealer couldn't seem to fix it. Thought they had it with replacing all the coils when the tech found two to be outputting at less than expected power. It was good for like a week or two then came back

72 month financing shouldn't even be a thing. 60 months MAX. On a used car I generally shoot for 36 months or so, pay that shit off quick.

You could have gotten a MUCH better price on your warranty by using a credit union to buy the car and buying the warranty through the credit union. Would have been half that. Between the car being on the high side of retail, the significant interest penalty for such a long loan, and the overpriced warranty, I'd say you got taken for a ride on this one and should probably do more research before spending $30,000 next time.

I bought mine in toronto for 27 000 $ with 15 000 KM ( Not miles) , 2011 , 328 xi premium package

However american prices are totally different than canadian prices. In the states you can find cars for 15-20% less than canada (sometimes even more) , although now it will be closer because of the dollar exchange

It was not long ago that a lot of canadians used to cross the border to buy their cars in the States and it was still cheaper than canada after taxes and import fees

43k when I got it Feb 2013, and 61k now.

-failed battery just after call work was done, I got them to mostly cover the replacement.
-Idler pulley
-6 coils
-Valve cover gasket
-valve Cover because it kept leaking after the first one (it turned out to be cracked, and gasket a second time)
-The transmission had a leaking shift shaft gasket that was replaced.
-The transmission was later replaced due to not wanting to shift into 1st due to bad synchro. This is a 5k dealer repair alone.
- Rear diff had a slight clunk, official solution is lube job according to TSB, doesn't contribute to failure or anything just a noise. This wasn't offically covered but they wrote it as a leak in the diff gasket so they could take care of it for me.
- lifters were ticking, so that job was done under CPO. Which is the other huge cost job.
- few other odds n ends.

Had a very cool tech and SA I worked with, unfortunately we never got to the bottom of the rough idle.

Yeah. Exactly. Mostly on warm start, like if I drive 20 mins leave it sit for 20-30 mins or even a bit longer and then start it again it will idle terrible at start and settle out a bit. RPMs bounce between 500-1000.

Got really squirrely on me in a car wash the other day too! I was like wtf! You got ideas? I was going to check for vacuum leak.

Hey guys so sorry man in beens treading so hard the breakdown would be this
22800 for the car 4000 warranty over here we have 13% tax plus a delivery installation fee of 900

So the total would be 30k the Car is 2011 mint Sport Package with Nav in pissed about the damn audio Bluetooth the car was pretty much 22800 without taxes and warranty

I don't know why I'm regretting it so much, I should be happy not stressed I pulled the trigger on signing papers but have not picked it up yet.
