Info inside: FULL rear suspension and driveline torque values
Hey guys, I just finished up a DIY install of TMS solid aluminum subframe bushings and delrin/aluminum differential bushings. I will post a quick recap on that process in another thread, but wanted to take the time to share torque values I dug through the TIS to find since they were not posted here already. The TIS refers to some components with a different name than realoem.com so I put the microfiche number you can reference on realoem as a backup. I converted all Nm torque values to ft/lbs which I think is more relevant for most people on the forum. Torque values are only guaranteed accurate for E90/E92/E93 M3. "Normal position" seen below refers to suspension loaded as if it were sitting on the ground on its wheels. Either perform these tightenings with the car on the ground or drive on lift or use a jack under the knuckle of the hub to simulate the suspension being loaded.
**Subframe all are 80 ft/lb **Driveshaft to diff 15 ft/lb plus 90 degrees **Axles to diff 89 ft/lb **Differential front bolts 74 ft/lb rear bolt 122 ft/lb **V brace to body 35 ft/lb plus 90 degrees **Sway bar brackets to subframe 16 ft/lb **Sway bar endlinks to sway bar 43 ft/lb **Wishbone (ROEM 17) to subframe 74 ft/lb **Wishbone to hub 74 ft/lb plus 90 degrees in normal position **Trailing arm (ROEM 10) to subframe 74 ft/lb in normal position **Trailing arm to hub 74 ft/lb nm in normal position **Guide rod (ROEM 18) to subframe 74 ft/lb in normal position **Guide rod to hub 74 ft/lb plus 90 degrees in normal position **Steering arm (ROEM 13) to subframe 74 ft/lb in normal position **Steering arm to hub 74 ft/lb in normal position **Camber arm (ROEM 4) to subframe 122 ft/lb in normal position **Camber arm to hub 122 ft/lb in normal position **Shock eye to camber arm 74 ft/lb in normal position Last edited by wrecklessfool; 12-21-2014 at 10:29 PM.. |
