Music collection capacity

Anyone know memory capacity of hard drive in F31?
My previous F11 was full on uploading my music via iPhone.
Thanks

Do you have professional multimedia? Looks like about 20GB of the hard drive is allocated to Entertainment and 5GB for CDDB Music (whatever that is, maybe storage for downloading the online music):

I must admit, I've never used the internal drive. I just put a 32GB USB stick in and play music off that.

Correct it's 20GB, I found out the hard way. Which is pretty small IHMO.

I Can't imagine having more than 20Gb of music. I must be getting old.

Never mind 20GB of music, what about the 7GB of address and contacts? That must be enough to store every address in Europe. (Maybe it does)

i'm old:53! just enjoy a wide variety of music, from Beethoven string quartets through Chet Baker to contemporary artists such as lake Street Dive and Gregory Porter. Love driving on my own with music on at a decent volume so top-option sound system a must and ease of having my entire collection already in situ very appealing as I'm bound to lose/forget a USB stick, although will give it a try so thanks for replies.

Id love to have the music on a usb stick, i just use my phone via y-cable but just a lot of hassle keep connecting it and the mrs has no music on her phone and would be ideal if i could put my music on a usb and leave it plugged in. Im guessing its a fairly hard procedure getting it to work via usb Not just drag and drop the music files on the usb and plug in and play.

It is just drag and drop songs and/or folders containing songs!

Perhaps that's why I don't need much space: other than Beethoven I haven't heard of any of those.

My collection consists of The Jam, The Sex Pistols, Secret Affair and Bruce Springsteen.

Same I was thinking who are they.

Mine is a mix of dance, rock, indie and jazz.

Jazz and you've not heard of Chet Baker? One of the trumpet/flugelhorn players with unique voice too- worth checking out

Well, it depends on quality of your tracks. I use FLAC files which are bloody huge but I copy them from my NAS so not fancy converting them (it would take too long). So I have only 500- 600(?) tracks on HD. I have 1,5 TB of music at home.

Yes, you have to use a 32gb stick when upgrading maps for the nav

20Gb of (lossy) compressed music is quite a lot, but I'm currently using a 128GB SSD in mine with no issues (mostly lossless)
