New 330D - EU 6?

As a matter of interest, has anyone who has taken delivery of a new 330D this week, noticed whether the accompanying documentation states it is EU5 or EU6 compliant?

It's EU6 compliant.

Some of the ones delivered last week where EU 6.

My take is that with the brake shortage BMW still had a backlog of EU 5 cars.

Also the ruling is sold after September (or so I remember).

That will be when you placed order and deposit.

Manufacturers are allowed a bit of flexibility with these EU rulings, cover things like parts shortages, ships stuck at sea, stuff stuck in customs etc.

So for a few months will be a mix of EU5 and EU6

I got my 330d last week and it is definitely EU5. The dealer told me that the model would need to be the blue efficiency version to be EU6.

Garage List
Mine was built on the 6/11/14 and mine is EU5. I thought EU6 was available if you paid £995 for the Blue Performance option.

Don't know how big the reservoir is but I can see remembering to top that up will quickly become a pain. (Well not for you and I obviously)

I find it interesting that the 35d (or 40d), essentially the same engine as the 30d with another turbo, more power, blah, blah, blah and having been around since 2011 in 313HP form, is already EU6... Was the 306HP version from 2009 EU6 too?

Clearly BMW policy for the UK market was to build EU6 into the F30/31 335d price from day one.

F30/31 330d EU6 is basically the same system as the 335d, uses a more advanced DPF, no SCR system, no AdBlue.

Not clear if those saying they do exist have seen one. Does anyone actually have a 330d which says EU6 on the V5C yet?

I'm not sure when it will start making a difference to value, but not for a while yet I would have thought. I believe Boris had a plan to charge EU5 diesels more from 2020, but can't see Westminster politicians introducing something similar after the reaction to the March 2006 Budget VED change and subsequent climb down for existing cars.

Right having had a quick read of the EU thing.

From September 2014, it is enforce for approval of new cars.
From December 2015 registration and sale of new vehicles.

http://europa.eu/legislation_summari.../l28186_en.htm

the Euro 5 standard came into force on 1 September 2009 for the approval of vehicles, and shall apply from 1 January 2011 for the registration and sale of new types of cars;
the Euro 6 standard will come into force on 1 September 2014 for the approval of vehicles, and from 1 January 2015 for the registration and sale of new types of cars;

So I would not be surprised if a load of people receive their V5 before they get the car in order to beat Han deadline.
However, these things usually have some latitude built into them.

For example car built in November but then stuck at sea until late Jan 15, would still be EU5.

Admittedly going to look comical with guys in layby's casually peeing in their tanks.

I imagine a few wives and partners won't be happy with fuel dipped knobs

So on that basis Mr Brigand, are you telling me that the 335d driver is better endowed than the 330d driver?
