Why so little 335d footage or reviews?

I just don't get it. Obviously being a lucky owner I am biased but there can't be many all rounders offering as good a combination of performance, economy and practicality yet naff all on YouTube of in any of the mags. What's going on?

BMW didn't offer them up as press cars. No idea why not but I guess it's for marketing reasons prior to M3 coming out. Or else it's just not that important to them.

Evo reviewed the 435d as a first drive, and autocar had a brief drive of a 335d tourer, but many months after if first came out.

Both got good reviews.

As a %

They make up fewer sales, usually the 320d as that's the big seller

Juicy has hit the nail on the head.

The original press cars were 320d. Critical to BMW in the UK.

Autocar gave it a five star road test score.

It's diesel therefore it's mainly the uk and Europe of interest. So many YouTube reviews, walk around etc are from the U.S.

Get your cameras out 335D owners and show the world what they're missing....

I agree there are not many reviews of the F3x 335d - not compared to the E9x 335d when that came out.

Or the contrary, they know it's very good, but don't want to interfere with their own marketing on RWD being the ultimate driving machine....

Yes that sounds a good reason.

This is one of few countries where we have limited x drive models.

Other countries have had Xdrive a while and more models.

That and they seem to sell rather well.

I also wonder how much the EU rules on fleet CO2 emissions has on it all... they average is supposed to come down.. is that based on what you offer to the market by model or by what you actually sell?

If it's based on the mix of what you sell then selling loads more xdrives and other higher emissions cars then makes it harder overall I guess. It's a random theory on my part, but not sure how the EU targets work.

Most footage of the 335d would likely be illegal!

The springs are not the xdrive system. And you know it Davy, you're not stupid, you're just on the wind up.

I think he is talking about xdrive not springs. Two different components.
We all know the springs BMW decided to fit to xdrive cars are crap, but that doesn't make xdrive bad.

Edit, yer beat me too it,! ^^^

You should do a video showing it doing a launch control start.
Launch control in a diesel still sounds wrong, so I'm sure it will get plenty views

I'm not being stupid hopefully but is it not the opinion of many owners that the suspension fitted to the x drive cars ruins the ride and handling. Thus they change the springs and hence why BMW may not want the car subjected to a road test as the review may not be favourable to the ride and handling.

So why have they let magazines review the 330d xdrive and other engine versions with xdrive?

Be glad you live in a country with "limited x drive models.". The alternative is having it rammed down your throat, whether you want it or not. (See the F34 in the US, for example.)

Yeah, they do seem to only offer in it xdrive and no choice other than bloody petrol.

Sorry can't help you there unless someone fancies lending me a Vbox, and go pro and an abandoned airfield?
