Reversing - mirror dip

Is this standard on a 330d MSport? Put switch across to passenger mirror but mirror doesn't dip as manual indicates?

Push it to the right.

My recollection is that it comes (also?) with electric seats.

Garage List
I don't have electric seats nor folding mirrors and the mirror doesn't dip! It is part of something!

You need either (or both) electric folding mirrors or electric memory seats.

The F30 mirrors are pretty tall though so i find i can see both the kerb and behind the car without moving them!

Yes but it will cost silly amounts! The mirrors are £400-500 each, plus probably need a control module and of course some coding.

It may be cheaper to fit a reversing camera which can give a pretty good idea of where the kerb is.

Handy feature these days with alloys to protect. As all have said the mirror button needs to be pushed to the RHS and need either folding mirrors or electric memory seats to have this.....and to be in reverse

Have the folding mirrors on mine & reversing camera. Mirror dips when in reverse but as said, switch needs to point towards the drivers mirror

My sales guy recommended folding mirrors specifically to get this. I do find it handy.

Folding mirrors have their uses too. When you see what BMW charge to replace a damaged mirror, folding them seems a good idea!

I got them for their electro-chromic dimming when being followed by a car with badly aligned lights.

Dip is ver useful fir reversing unto a kerb though.

I doubt the dip can be coded easily. It would require the mirror to remember the initial position, there may be an additional memory module as part of the seat and mirror packs.

Does the key profile store mirror positions on all cars?

I got my car just last week with surround cameras, which really help line up the car as near to the kerbs are without hitting your alloys on them. Maybe the most useful of the toys it has for parking.
Took a pic when I parked at work the other night - chuffed.

Nice toy! I have the simple reversing camera, which is pretty good, but no match for that.

I also have the folding/dimming mirrors, but from the reversing camera alone with its marker lines, I can judge the position of the kerb to within perhaps 5-8cm. Perhaps surround view is one more box I need to tick next time. These forums are expensive places to hang out!

It looks like you're not even in the centre of the space??? Or am I seeing it wrong? Cool gadget though 😃

It's a nice option, but for what it is surround view is very expensive IMHO.

That's where I wanted the car. There's a space to the left, which I want as big as possible, but no parking allowed to the right, so my drivers door shouldn't get dented.

I always try to park with as few cars up close as possible.
