BMW VIP Events

I've had a message from my dealer telling me they've extended their VIP Event until next week. Aside from them never actually telling me they were holding the event in the first place, I'm left wondering if these events are actually worth their salt? Do they really discount over an above any other week or is it all marketing flannel?

Not found them to offer more than you can get at other times of year (back end of year etc).

They are quite good for a nose about if they have something like an M day connected with it.

I ordered my car on one of those weekends. I figured it would be easier to argue for at least matching the online offers if they were explicitly saying they were offering amazing discounts. Not sure if it made any difference, but I got a deal I was happy with.

Expect a lot more sales pressure on these days and to be told it's for that day only. Strangely enough when I declined I got an email on the Monday saying they will still honour that price.

Wait until the middle of December (Year end) and see what cars they have in stock for immediate delivery and you should get a great deal.

Actually, I found that if you visit in the last week of the new registration month that you get the best deals. Dealers desperate to meet their targets.

I went to one a few weeks ago, didn't find it to offer any better deals than you would get any other day of the week.

The prices appear marked down from the outset, but nothing amazing, which is how they try to sell it you.

Agreed - I bought my F31 on 31 March 2014 on condition I drove it off the Dealers premises that day otherwise they couldn't mark it down as sold.

Got an invite to my local dealership last month to a VIP event. Contacted dealership to register an interest in attending, only to be told that my car is relativly new & too early to change over. Never mentioned to them that it was for me. They just assumed. Muppets.

They did however state that any deal on a car had to be agreed that weekend. More BS

I did go to a Vip event at my local dealer recently. There were one or two very good deals on cars in the showroom, but that was about it.
The best bit was just chatting to the sales guy whilst sitting next to an x5 m50d and he said it had a 5 litre disel engine, which I did challenge and he said it is a 5 litre....priceless.

I have 'tickets' for a Jaguar event near me for next month so will see what Christmas offers they have

Doubt they will match BMW tbh.

Yes, that what happened with the last VIP I went to at my local dealer. It was the same day as the launch of the M3/M4 in my case.

Aye. Don't think there will be much discount on any of the new / recent models.

Was thinking of booking a test drive in the XE at my local dealersip.
Not sure when they are due for release.
Do you know any confirmed dates ?

I think Castle Bromwich is around 5 Dec or so.

I should have a test drive in XE and F type around then.

I did say they should loan me one for a trip to San Marino next month lol.
