Got the remapped car back from DMS today...

Only got the car back at 6pm near Heathrow, so the M25 slog back home gave little opportunity to feel the difference. Thanks to Tony@DMS for making the rush hour slog up to swap cars. Haven't seen the full dyno plots yet, but he said that it was putting out 375BHP!

So just been out for a little whizz along the local autobahn for a few miles after dinner. All I can say is "Holy cow Batman"!!!!

The acceleration of the 335d is clearly very good anyway, but the intensity of the acceleration beyond 2500rpm is a big change- it just maintains that surge for so much longer than before.

The general characteristics otherwise seem much the same, and certainly no downsides that I can see so far. The biggest issue is going to be resisting the urge to enjoy that performance so that I maintain my clean license!

I will post more as I get more chance to drive it, and post the dyno plots when I get them.

Have you noticed any difference to engine sound/noise under normal usage (when not wringing its neck to extract 375 horses!).

Or the Xmas one to Poland in about 5 weeks... No speed limiter anymore!

Better check the speed rating on the winter tyres!

Nope, none that I could tell. No one in my car would tell the difference this evening as I slogged round the inside lane of the M25.

I think the noise higher up is nicer now though.

I find this thread very unhelpful having convinced myself there was no need in going for the remap.

But 375?! Holy moly, that sounds fantastic!!

DMS did a great job of my XF a few years back so I'm sure it will be good.

Since I live half was between Southampton and Heathrow I could have driven one of the legs today - I'm disjointed you didn't ask

So are DMS offering low cost maps now...?

We may be visiting friends in Hampshire this weekend... Could maybe look in to quick meet up?

There is no real justification for 375bhp. Just wanting it for the sake of it has to be sufficient!

Don't worry mate - I think we have a busy one this weekend. We should definitely meet up once you've had time to learn the new map... and I have time to do some of your coding!

Of course there is justification Terry Glad you're liking your new go-faster car! If it's anything like mine (which it sounds like it is), sure you'll be very happy. Do bear in mind, after 10k now I wouldn't mind a bit more poke....

It does to the extent that the fun lasts a bit longer than 1000rpm, but I still wouldn't pretend that the throttle response is petrol-like below 2000rpm.

Had more chance to feel what the car is like on my regular morning commute. The weather is appalling so taking it nice and easy, but what I felt (and was looking for) is that I didn't feel the need to push across in to sport auto mode like I did before. I found comfort to be a bit lazy at times, with it's desire to keep revs well below 2000rpm, but now it's not really a problem as the torque builds so strongly and maintains longer than before.

375! Holy fcuking shit!!! Nice!!!

By that reckoning they should be able to get a 30d into the silly side of 300 (likely more than the 35d stock.............)

Don't suppose DMS mentioned what they think they can get out of a 330d ?

I never asked them but going on what remapped have done previously with the 330d then it seems reasonable to think they will get it to around 300bhp or the standard figures of a 335d.

For those avowed RWD aficionados then a remapped 330d is an enticing proposition!

Sounds good Terry

We take the 330d to 309hp and DMS are usually a little more aggressive than us, but I think the 30d engine is limited by turbo size so they might end up around the same.

That's the E9x 330d though, so based on that being around 15bhp down on the F3x 330d I'd think you'd see around 310-315ish.

There are two 330's listed so assuming the higher one is current model.

Looks like they may do the 335i as well.

The main reason (other than only being on 3000 miles) I have not had springs done etc is I MAY change to a 335i next year, depending when LCI actually comes out for the 335i.

It's pointless getting remap etc until springs are done,.

However DMS option looks appealng.

The LCI is June 2015 build onwards, and as you are probably aware, there are new petrol engines being introduced then.
