1200 +/- ?

How close do I have to be to the 1200 mile mark to get BMW to do my break in service? I currently have 1100.

I really need a redline 7500 rpm fix!

LOL....
I did something like this. I made an appointment on a Saturday and that day woke up early and did a 150mi loop around the city, pulled into dealer with 1206mi. I am sure they would do it in the 1100's but I wanted to be safe.

BTW OP, shifting at 5500 under acceleration breaks the tires loose more so than 7500, so if your expecting much more shifting at 7500 you may be depressed, it will however pick up some serious MPH between 5500 and 7500, so do it away from the revenue collectors .

Just back, was 70 miles shy of 1200, no problem. Yes, I did a few laps!

Just for the record, no tranny fluid change on my MT for those who are wondering. My tech guy, who I have been going to for years, told me not to bother till 30k. The stuff in there is probably better than what they will refill it with anyway.

On my way out the service writer, also an oldie but a goodie, told me "now you can get out there and beat the hell out of it, enjoy". Love her!

My dealer said they would do it in the 900 - 1500 mile window. Had mine done at 1150.

Good advice, and probably more fun too!

SakhirM4,
Something for you my color brethren. Pulled into my BMW service center today and immediately drew a crowd of service people loving the color, one actually called it "electric" and wished they offered the color on more models. Lots of nice complements! Others are nice but SO rules my friend.
