Williams BMW - VIP Sales Days?
Anyone got any experience of buying a car from Williams BMW, during one of their special sales events?
If so, what sort of additional discount should I be looking for? I've got an E90, and quite fancy either a new or low mileage MSport Saloon or GT. Any good sites to look at before I go, to see what £ I should be looking at. |

Don't know about Williams, but if you know what kind of max discount levels are available for the model and engine you're buying, I highly doubt you'll get better during a sales event. These are probably designed to encourage those 'unenlightened' folk being offered 5% off get 10% and force a sale, when 20% is available!! (just to quote some generic figures)

For a start, go to broadspeed.com and that will give you a rough idea of what discounts can be achieved. Whether your local friendly BMW dealer will match these is another thing......
Keep shopping around until someone wants your business.

Another top tip...... whatever deal you get, dont sign the line until you've asked them to throw in the Service Pack for free, as a sweetener.
And dont buy GAP from them, its a rip off. Look up thread on here with regards GAP.

When the discounts were visible on Drive the Deal, the best they got to was about 25%. A lot of us bought in the range 20-25% - I think mine was 23%. I expect they will reappear at some point.
It was simpler to negotiate when the DtD deals were visible - made it impossible for our shiny suited, hair gelled friends to deny what was available, but it should still be possible with some persistence. Do look out for the expression of shock, worthy of an Oscar nomination, when you mention 25%! |

25% wow!!!
I used Drive The Deal years ago, when my old fella bought his first BMW, and they begrudgingly price matched it. Don't know if I'd have the brass neck to ask for 20% let alone 25% Looking at Broadspeed, discount is circa 19% for the M Sport, and 13% for the M Sport GT. |

At the end of the day, they need to sell cars to meet targets. Time of year (what Quarter) also has an impact as does geographical region possibly. It is rather smug when someone's mentions high cost of flash BMW's and you can point out yours costs less than there Insignia Well very close to it |

And you're right, if you don't ask, you don't get. I've got another year left, and yet he was giving me the patter that I would be part ex'ing for a new one, guaranteed... I'm in no rush to get rid, but like most, would love a new motor |

A number on here were initially looking at used, however after seeing the discounts available, especially on the 6 pot diesels, made the obvious choice

Anyway, what ever happened to TRL Tony? He used to be able to drum up a good deal (was a BMW sales manager who sold at sensible prices).

I got 21% off last weekend, and also part exchanged 2 years into a 3 year PCP and got a good part ex price to pay off the remaining finance. I had only put down a £1500 deposit originally so the outstanding finance was quite high.
When I bought a car for my girlfriend last summer I went to 2 dealers, one on their VIP day but the deal was worse than the other garage yet the sales pressure was huge. They didn't want to talk to me unless I said I would be prepared to do a deal that day. |

My local dealership had one of these open VIP days last month.
I emailed them back thinking that we could attend & look around the various mdels to see what deals are available, thinking that we could get a couple of days to think about any substantial deal. Sharp email back to inform me that any deals had to be concluded & agreed the same weekend. No point then. Don't suppose the deals were that great anyway. |

I suppose, if I end up paying the same or less than I'm currently paying, then it'll be a good deal. So am prepared to sign up on the day, if the deal is right. |
