Yup. I think it's great. Worth spending some time on getting the EQ settings right.
There are a couple of good threads on this from the US forum. |

Very pleased with mine, especially when you see what others are spending to upgrade the standard after-market

love mine - this is my first BMW with HK though
my salesman wouldn't let me have a F30 without it as he knows me very well and really pushed me to have it as part of the whole m sport plus package I can see why now and that is why he is in my "trusted circle" (meet the Fokkers reference!!! LOL) I always felt that the stock system in all of my e90's was pretty good and having now had both cars, it seemed much better than the stock system that is now in the F30 - me thinks the corporate cost cutters have been hard at work!!!!!!!!! - I do not think I could live with the base system as I am a total music lover

Yes, it's a must have if you like music in the car.

And it's even punchier with a bit of Dynamat in the doors!

I find when listening to a well loved tune I now hear extra detail in the high freq end of the song now like extra cymbals, shakers etc etc in my humble opinion well worth the extra bucks if you like music in your car

the base stereo is worse than an old mkIV cortina's... and doesn't even have an amp. imo... hifi as a minimum (easy upgrade path for better amp, door mids and subs.) HK if you don't want to upgrade amp/speakers later.(fibre optic system) |

An absolute must! I waited ages for mine because the only thing I really wanted was this, and it's even better than the Bose system I had in the Mazda

on the F30 its so much better system that on E90. On first look its almosts as if they taken the inividual audio from E90 and made it the HK default system on F30 unlike before where you had a 11 speak HK and an individual 13 speaker system. Its a big difference on how the system sounds over E90 and certainly over base. If you like your music its a must. I'm sure you could get a far more powerful system aftermarket but this way its intergrated and factory clean build

I'm just out of an Audi A8 with Bang&Olufsen 1000w system. Given this was a 4+k option (to the first buyer -not me I hasten to add), the HK is a veritable bargain. No, it's not quite up to the B&O, but it's not 4k away either! It really is very good, and well worth ticking the box, and the fact I don't "miss" the B&O speaks volumes for the HK.
