Just curious to talk to some owners about what thought about stage 1
So I got a pretty good deal on a stage 1 tune , I intend on upgrading it stage 2, my question is BMS claims 40whp 50wtq . I have seen stock dyno ranging from 300whp to 320whp stock. Now paired with a BMS intake and MPE (not for power but sound) theoretically should I be 350whp-375whp on 93oct and cold NJ air. I plan to see how I like the power , and after a few thousand miles move toward stage 2 jb4, Bms Charge pipe , FMIC , and catless DP. Anyone with a stage 1 tune who wants chime in would be appreciated |

It all depends on the dyno, a Mustang(reads way lower) and a Dynojet(higher). Also depends on if you have 91, or 93 octane. Density altitude plays a huge role as well on dyno numbers. Just to put that into perspective, up here at ~4500ft altitude with 91 octane, running a low reading Mustang Dyno. A 2013, 662hp Shelby GT500 dynoed at 475WHP.
Don't forget the 235 already comes "tuned" with a 20hp/30tq power bump over the other N55's in BMW's lineup. I would think realistically with 93 you could gain 20-25hp and 30-40tq. A little less with 91. |

Yeah I probably should have mentioned where I live is Literally right at sea level, And only will be using 93oct. I guess it makes sense the 235i has a bit of a tune compared to a regular n55. Though Is it only a factory boost increase? I guess closer to 350whp 375wtq with the listed stage 1 tune and mods. Not sure the drive train loss but at 12% it's 42hp so 400crank is not ridiculous to think possible especially if the tune is just upgraded to stage 2 and the intake

You should get a baseline dyno to see where you are at, preferably if you can dyno the same day you do your mods.
I think your numbers are a bit aggressive based on stage II dyno results with more mods I have seen on this site. I would guess with the stage I and mods you mention 330 whp and 355 wtq. They say key words like "up to" and "with supporting mods". I read it that the mods you mention are already factored into that up to high number that you MIGHT see. Only way to know is to get a dyno.

I think you will like how it feels. I have stage II on map 2 with DP and CAI and could not be more thrilled with how it feels.
I hear ya on the claimed 40 plus gains and they do deliver this over the stock advertised numbers but most if not all of these cars are doing a bit better than the advertised numbers. Your starting from the numbers you see most people are putting down real world and they are starting from the manufacturers numbers, a 15 to 20 starting point difference.

I was on Stage 2, Map 2 with a BMS Intake and a ER Downpipe and I only managed 350whp/390wtq on 93 gas.
