M235 JB4 install need help

Need some reassurance that i did everything ok.

I got the JB4 stage 2.

There are 4 connections, due to our car having an electronic waste the blue cables are not used? So 3 out of 4 is connected?

After connecting the the battery back, i got a couple of warnings, first the stability control, time, and sos malfunction. I drove around a bit and the time and stability went away, accept the SoS malfunction. Anyone know how to fix that? I searched and didn't see anything.

I haven't mapped any settings yet, i want to put some miles first to make sure everything is fine.

Not sure which harness you got but the newer harnesses they removed one of the harnesses leaving 3 harnesses, along with the power and ground wire and then the two wires you tap into the CAN wires with. If you have a 4th harness it is not needed.

What I have connected are two harnesses, brown and rainbow, the blue harness I am not using. I then have the power and ground wire connected and the two wires that tap into the two can wires.

I would shoot an email over to Burger for further assistance they are very quick to respond.

Yea, i connected the can wire, i have a manual tranny, the brown, rainbow, and powers. I left out the blue.

I went for a drive again and the sos malfunction went away. So all the codes are fine now.

For the manual there's no indicator like the autos. To be clear, hold down the - volume button for 6 seconds, then +volume to select map?

Then to reset it back to 0, hold down -volume for 6 seconds and tap the -volume again to set back at 0 map?

I don't think they have the steering wheel controls active yet and they are beta testing that feature now. I never got them to do squat on my car and there is another thread floating around where somebody spoke with burger and confirmed with them they are not working for us yet.

I had to install the JB4 software and connect up my laptop to confirm maps and switch them.

It might not be a bad idea to get a data log and shoot over to burger to confirm all is good. I had them evaluate my data logs Today for a bit of peace of mind.

Glad to hear all is good and hopefully you have had a chance to get on it.

The new firmware posted a day or two ago does have working volume controls for changing maps. I'm running it now and it works well. As mentioned though, the manual transmission car won't have the blinking lights for confirmation.

^^^^^^^ Get the $15 cable. Very unlikely you have this latest firmware and you will need the cable to upgrade the firmware.

Got the same message when I installed the Dinan system the first time. Disconnect your battery again and unplug everything. Reconnect your plugs and double-check your connections and then re-connect the battery. This cleared my SOS malfunction message and never came back again.

You don't. The latest firmware is what allows you to change maps without the USB cable. You need to USB cable to update to the latest firmware.

You're stuck on map 1 for now until you get the cable.

You can try holding down volume for 6 seconds depending on what firmware you received the JB4 with, but with a manual there is no way to tell what map you're in.
