JB4 map changing?
Hi a quick question for those with a JB4. Is it possible to change maps without a laptop connected. If so how exactly? I can't seem to find a straight answer or clear instructions. Cheers

I've been in touch with BMS and you can't change maps without a laptop connected. They are currently working on a solution so in future this may be possible for the M235i. You can however switch the JB4 on and off. They also said it's automatically set to map 1 straight out of the box for those who are interested.

lol, I watched all these videos this weekend and said the same thing. Gave it a shot anyways before I hooked up my laptop.
Good to hear they are making upgrades, saw the thread where they are looking for beta testers so it won't be long. Not sure if I will go after this feature, was hoping to just sit at the firmware rev I am on. Perhaps not as iffy as SCT handheld firmware upgrades?

That's great to hear about the new firmware hopefully it won't be too long before it's available for everyone. I don't fancy testing it though Dave. Justin I'm guessing the firmware must have been changed along the line from when you managed to switch maps. There's always the jb4 iOS app and bluetooth connection but that doesn't really appeal to me. I'd rather just switch maps on the steering wheel without forking out more cash if possible!

The new firmware has been posted. I loaded it last night and it seems to work well.

Can someone explain why you would want to change maps constantly? It's a super nice feature, and I give Terry@BMS praise for keeping up the effort on improving the FW. I just don't see why you would change on and off constantly?

Well, just check N54Tech and for manuals you will use the volume buttons.
Hold down the low volume for around 5 secs and then press the up volumes to select map. In case anyone wants to know. |
