Radio Favories
Here's a question I don't think has been covered - how do I access my radio favorites? My 2015 M235 has the H/K stereo, but no NAV, Tech package, etc. I have the option to flag a song as "favorite." I thought the point of this was if the song played, the radio would alert me to that song playing allowing me to jump to the station playing it. But, it doesn't work. Is it because I have no hard drive due to not having NAV? Why is BMW teasing me?

I never heard of the option to favorite a song, I know that you can favorite a radio station and use that to flip to the station faster. I don't have my car yet but also don't have the tech package or nav system so I am interested in knowing if this option can be used on our cars.

I have a 2011 335i coupe. When I tag a song or artist as favorite, an alert will come up. I then have to navigate thru iDrive to favorites and click on the one I want to hear. It works fine for me.

Tcinoc do you have nav? Thru Idrive I can open up manage favorites in the radio tab but when it gives you a choice to activate alerts it's gray and won't allow me to actually activate the alerts. Yet it's saving all the songs I've tagged as favorites. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or my lack of nav or hard drive is the reason

I've got a 228 with HK ,no tech or premium. I've had it for four months and I've never seen a option like you're describing.

But I can't set a favorite alert. The songs I've flagged are there but I'm not alerted when they're playing |

When you click on the 'Favorites' icon, you should have an option to save the channel/show/artist.
I think the icon is misleading because the checkmark next to the star suggests it's already added to favorites. |

I guess that's my question - do I have hard drive if I don't have tech package and don't have have nav? Seems the only thing I CANT do is set the alert. Weird I can store the songs but can't set the alert

No you will not have a HD. I was reading the on board manual and I thought it said if you flag the song it was supposed to notify you when it is available for play...... Mayne I misunderstood it also or possibly something we need to activate

I did the BMW ude over the weekend (a blast by the way) and took a 750 out on the street drive. Had nav and I had no problem setting up alert for a favorite song. So my money is on only nav cars can set alerts for favorite songs while all satellite cars can save songs - which is useless

My other cars have touch screens. When a favorite pops up, all I have to do is actually select the pop-up. This BMW way of doing it...is NOT friendly. biz
