BMW Silicon Key Fob

Hello,
Just want to share some pictures with the silicon cover I received from deAutoKey. Its good for someone like me who always drop their keys.. my old key got pretty ugly...

You can purchase them here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NOF8OM4
should fit all new F series vehicles

Took delivery this week and I did notice that the key plastic seems like it will scratch up pretty badly, especially on a ring with the house keys.

Curious-- does the cover have any effect on the strength of the signal coming from the key fob for either Comfort Access purposes or the range when using the buttons on the fob?

Nope, no difference at all. I have comfort access as well and didn't notice anything different.

Second but crazy question: will it still fit into the small upper slot on console designed to hold the fob while driving? I have gotten used to having it there, and always know where it's at, instead of flying all over the place. Just curious. Love the idea though of this little cover. I have dropped mine twice now on garage concrete..and cringe each time.

I'm not sure which small upper slot your talking about, can you post a pic?
I use the round cup holder in front of the gear selector - in front of that ?

I do think most of the solid colors look a little "too" solid, but I'm interested in the transparent one!

Is this the slot you mean? The silicon cover is black, but it's on. The fit is a little tight, but it doesn't fall out while driving (although to be honest, I generally just keep it in my pocket).

They look good, do you have a photo of the back?

It would be nice to have a cover that matches the color of your car and protects your keys, I drop my keys way too much.

Once I get a photo of the back, I am going to purchase.

Looks ok but they don't look like they're cut to fit correctly. The center where the BMW symbol is oblong shaped when the symbol is round, just looks weird. I like the blue color though but these aren't for me.

Looks like the nature of silicone, most likely able to fix that once it is on the key, doesn't look too noticeable, I had to go back to look at the photo.

Still waiting to purchase if I can see the back of one of these first and I will post small review myself here.

Here's a couple of pictures for you. This particular one doesn't have cut-outs and covers almost the entire key. I would have preferred a navy coloured cover, but this one does the job and looks ok.

Thanks, but I can tell from their amazon listing, the back looks different.
Can the OP take photos of the back?

I like the OP better because it shows the shiny BMW emblem and buttons while protecting them.

Cairo Kid, I think I saw your model on eBay, they were too much money for silicone, like close to $20.00??

the silicone cover isn't thick. It fit in the upper console slot with the cover. That's where you're referring to right?

No, you're not. But I keep my keys in my pocket so it doesn't matter. Over time, old scratch up keys look worse so this isn't bad for the time being. Maybe someone will come up with a better idea later on.

That's the color I currently am going with too.

Like the guy below you said, it's the silicon material and because the center circle is skinny, the ring moves a bit. I would recommend a sticker/skin then if you can't stand it not lining up completely.

The circle doesn't bother me on the front, makes sense it isn't going to be perfect and can be moved.

More important is the back circle, any reason for that?
Is it because you can flip it around, is it for the front emblem?

This is the most time I took on deciding to make a purchase for a $7 item.

I am most likely going to pick up a blue one today as they seem to ship these quickly through amazon, I should have it by Friday for a review.

I just saw that listing, that is still too much money.

$7.00 seems reasonable and the going price for these, I did find few for like $3.00 in China, but for quicker shipping in the US for $4.00 more is not a big deal.
