Hey guys im sorry but I need some help for my other a car....an audi
hey guys so I apologize for posting about an audi on a bmw forum but if anyone who also owns an audi can help me out that will be great. I just purchased some aftermarket wheels and went to the dealer to get them installed. the women at the counter let me know I needed bolts for the wheels and in her words the "centercap for the back of the wheel". I do have a centercap that came with the wheels but she told me there is also one for the back . I was under the impression that the stock bolts would fit and the centerbore would need no cap? not sure what she meant, and never explained it too well. These are the specs for the 4 aftermarket wheels. Its for an audi s5. Again I apologize but if anyone could help me out that would be great, Im new to the whole aftermarket wheel business.

Why are you going to a dealer to install after market wheels is my 1st question...
She is probably talking about hubcentrinc rings to convert your center bore to match the wheels. Not required once wheels are installed and torqued down properly. You probably need tuner lug nuts for them. Aftermarket wheels usually have tapered bolt seatings. Where as stock wheels tend to have a different type. |

Sometimes I think people would take their car to the dealer for gas if they had the option.
That being said, I'm sure these "center caps" she is referring to are hub centric rings and after market wheels usually require different lug bolts. After market, for the most part, use cone seat bolts while factory wheels use ball seats. VMR I think may use ball seat, but most after markets are cone.

hey guys thanks. The reason I took it to audi in the first place was because I had an appointment with them and my rims arrived early the day before. I thought might as well get them to install it if its going for a full service. The centerbore is correct so I dont need a hubcentric ring. Just picked up some bolts and dropped them. Thanks guys, knew I could count on the e90 community

Sell the audi, return the rims by saying you needed a bolt pattern 5x120, then when you receive the new rims, install them on your bimmer, and have a nice day
