Spark Plug Socket Size S65 M3

Can anyone help me with the Spark Plug Size for a 2011 M3 S65 engine? Also doeas it have to be a thin wall socket.

From the DIY section, it states a standard spark plug socket.

No, there is more than one size of sparkplug. Commonly used are 5/8" and 13/16". The M3 uses the smaller size (5/8"). I recommend getting one with a magnetic plug holder built-in to the socket for our deep cylinder heads. You will also benefit from several lengths of socket extensions and a u-joint as well.

Big thank you, had no idea! Good call on the magnetic socket, it drives me insane when the spark plug falls back in int he hole.

Just use an extension magnetic tool.

Thanks for the help to all. I brought a spark plug socket online 14mm 12 point thin wall. Come to find out this is for the turbo 6 banger and not the S65 V8. I will be performing the change out job this weekend. I am going to use information I found in this forum.
