This mornin i left the gas station it was perfect but once i got to work. I parked walked away and locked the car. Since i always glance back at the car i noticed the gas tank door wasnt shut. I turned around and tried shutting it but the spring refuses to click in. What do i do? Can i fix it myself? Help please!

Unlock the car, press on the gas door again, and it should shut. Lock your car again and you'll notice the gas door probably won't open.

When you lock the car, a plastic pin locking mechanism actually pushes out and would normally hold the gas door shut. My guess is that since yo unlocked your car, that pin came out and rather than going through the little loop on the gas door, it's actually blocking your gas door from shutting.

Thanks but that wasnt the problem. There are two different things there to close the door. First is when you push the door to close which is what is damaged. Then theres another pin which locks the door shut when the car is locked
